Fire & Life Safety Systems
At Meridian Fire & Security we design, supply, install, commission and maintain an extensive range of life safety systems. These include Fire Detection and Alarm, Conventional and Analogue Addressable, Disabled Refuge, PAVA and Fire Suppression to name a few.
These Fire Detection & Alarm Systems are designed for both the protection of life and the protection of property.
Our design team can produce drawings for all types of premises from the smaller conventional type systems and open protocol addressable systems through to managed protocol systems and multi-panel networked systems, each of which meets all of our clients’ requirements and conforms to the latest standards.
Our expertise encompasses all of the following:
- PA/VA Speech Systems with full integration to the Fire System.
- Gaseous Suppression Systems.
- Fire Telephone Systems or Disabled Refuge Systems, some with integrated accessible WC alarms.
- Full cause and effects requirements interfaced and programmed, from the simple to the most complex networked systems.
- A complete range of detection, activation and alarm devices to suit any application including call points, heat, smoke, or a combination of both, a triple sensor (smoke, heat and CO), flame detectors, beam detectors, linear heat detectors, heat probes, early warning HSSD systems, sounders, beacons or voice annunciation.
- Visual Alarm Devices (VAD) designed and installed to the latest EN 54-23 Compliant Category W (Wall), C (Ceiling), and O (Open).
- All work is carried out to BS5839 by our fully certified FIA engineers.
Disabled Refuge Systems
At Meridian Fire & Security we offer a design, supply, install, commissioning and maintenance service for Disabled Refuge Systems and Fire Telephones to BS5839-9. These can also be linked to the fire alarm and only become operable during an activation, prohibiting any misuse of these vital life safety systems. Some of our systems also incorporate the alarms that are installed for the accessible WC, or we can install a separate system depending on the customer requirements.

Meridian Fire & Security can install a wide range of products that provide quality images from the industry’s leading manufacturers, using the latest in the ever-evolving technology from site-based or cloud-based recording, networked systems and app-based software.
Access Control
Designed to control the movement of visitors, personnel and customers whilst keeping a safe working environment. Meridian Fire & Security design, supply, install and commission a comprehensive range of standalone and networked, PC-based access control systems. These systems can integrate with CCTV, intercoms and intruder alarm systems to offer a complete secure package. We use only leading technology from our supportive supply chain.
Intercoms
We use only high-quality equipment that can be required to integrate with the access control and CCTV systems. From the basic one-to-one audio call at a loading gate to a multi-networked video call in apartment blocks with concierge handsets and app-based systems, our range of suppliers have a solution for any situation.
Nurse call and WC alarms
We offer a range of nurse call systems and accessible WC alarms to BS8300. These can range from a single stand-alone unit to multi-panel networked systems
